The City "Roommate Wanted": I hope producers initiated the "Whitney treats Roxy like dirt" storyline. If not, Whitney has officially veered into the "obnoxious and unlikeable" end of the reality star spectrum. Why does she feel betrayed upon learning Roxy looked at an apartment, when last week Roxy announced that she wanted to move out? Roxy claiming she can't afford a $4,000 a month 1 bedroom leads me to believe this drama is all for show - MTV has to pay these girls more than that. The best part of the episode was Olivia's steadfast refusal to acknowledge Whitney's clothing line on-camera.
The Hills "Loves Me Not": You can tell the producers wanted the show to end on Kristin and Brody declaring their undying love for each other, except Brody rewrote the script when he started dating Avril Lavigne. Now, Kristin has to (fake?*) cry on camera about getting rejected by everyone's favorite douche. I loved how Lo was like, "you're not really crying about Brody, are you?" I enjoyed Lo's scenes this week, since she is actually dating her boyfriend Scott. Their anniversary dinner felt like a scene from Seasons One or Two, when the show was about young women living in Los Angeles, instead of D-List reality stars getting wasted and screaming at each other in nightclubs. Next week: the series (tear) finale, in which Lo potentially gets engaged, Kristin says goodbye to Brody, Lauren does not appear, and everyone moves out of their MTV-subsidized homes.
*I hope those tears were fake. Watching Kristin cry is like watching your favorite aunt, who you find fun and free, admit her life isn't as awesome as you think.
